I've been thinking recently (oh no, haven't we told you not to do that Jamie? It's dangerous...), and I've come to realize that Tokyo has handed not only me, but some my other foreign friends here some really awesome opportunities. I mean for real. Two of my friends who are from U of O are both photographers (one a model) and both have been offered (one accepted) photography positions with American Apparel here in Tokyo as well as some modeling gigs. My vocalist friend Maria (although not a foreigner) hooked up with my DJing song writing friend Michael (is a foreigner) to sing on his album he's working on. I myself have met with chances to play live and even though they have been small, pretty insignificant gigs they have meant the world to me because they have reunited me with my lost passion for music. I feel like these things couldn't have happened, or at least wouldn't have happened as easily as they did, had we all just stayed in America, doing our same routine. Tokyo has begun to show it's magical side to me, and i'm dazzled.

| Oh how you have caused me so much anxiety over the past few months with your grey streets, grimy air, and over populated cafes; yet you still have the capability to shine. |

I'm leaving for my SE Asia trip in a little over a week!!
Here's the skivvy of the trip:
We're going to start in Bangkok and then follow the coast, cutting through Si Rancha (yes, like the sauce), Chanburi, Trate, down to this island called Koh Chang, then we're going to cross into Cambodia and head straight for Battambong and hit up An Kor Wat and Siem Reap. Then it'll be off to Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam where we'll kick it until we fly back home to Nippon (Japan).
I'm excited, are you?
PEACE OUTSIDE
Jamie
